Rose season on Jabal Akhdar
Three weeks a year, the Green Mountain turns pink.
From roughly late March to late April the terrace villages of Jabal Akhdar bloom with damask roses, and the air genuinely smells of them. Families pick at dawn and distil rosewater the way they have for centuries. Miss the window, wait a year.
