How to get to Wadi Bani Khalid
- Route 23 inland from Muscat, 2.5 hrs, asphalt the whole way, any car.
- (Route 17 along the coast is prettier but closer to 4 hrs. Your call.)
- Park in the big lot closest to the pools. No 4×4 needed.

- Skip the first pools by the car park, that's where everyone stops.
- Walk 15–20 min upstream. The crowds thin out and the water gets better.
- Keep going and there's a cave further in, if you want more than a swim.
