Wadi Shab
The famous one, and for once the hype is real.
A 45–60 min walk/hike from the boat drop past a string of pools. The last 20 minutes is swim-only: through a narrow gap into a cave with a waterfall inside it.

How to get to Wadi Shab
- Drive Route 17 south from Muscat toward Sur/Tiwi, 1h40 to 2h.
- Park at the free lot under the bridge. It's small: on a weekend, be there before 9am.
- Take the boat across, 2 minutes, 1 OMR pp return, pay as you board. Last boat ~5pm.
- Walk in from the far bank: 45–60 min, mostly flat, along the wadi bed.
What you'll do
- Follow the path past a chain of turquoise pools, crossing the wadi bed a few times.
- Swim the last stretch, there is no dry route around it. Phone in a dry bag.
- Squeeze through the narrow gap in the rock at the end.
- Inside: a hidden cave with a waterfall in it. That's the reason you came.

Oct–Apr. Oman's summer (roughly May to September) is extremely hot inland, so plan outdoor places for the cooler months and go early in the day.
