Hijrat Al Sheikh
A 300-year-old village where the falaj still runs the show.
'The sheikh's room': three centuries of village, working falaj channels threading the farms exactly as classical Omani irrigation intended, a little market, a walk-in bird enclosure, and more coffee shops than a village this size has any right to. Come to walk slowly and sit long.

How to get to Hijrat Al Sheikh
- Head inland on the Nakhal road (Route 13), about 1.5 hrs from Muscat. Search 'Hujrat Al Sheikh Heritage Walkway' on Google Maps, the pin takes you straight there.
- Any car does it; park by the walkway entrance.

- Walk the falaj lines through the farms, 300 years of engineering still doing its job.
- Poke around the little market and step inside the bird enclosure.
- Then do what the village is built for: pick a coffee shop and stay a while.
