Sifah Beach
The easy wild beach an hour from town — with a famous surprise in the shallows.
The beach at Al Sifah: long sand, clear water, mountains behind, an hour from Muscat. And some days, baby reef sharks cruise the shallows at your feet — harmless, skittish and completely mesmerising (yes, the reel was filmed here).

How to get to Sifah Beach
- Head for Al Sifah, about an hour from Muscat on a good sealed road — any car.
- ⚠️ The final sandy stretch swallows 2WDs: without a 4×4, stop where the hard ground ends and walk the last part. With one, drop tyre pressure a little and carry on.
- Walk the shore away from the busiest section and watch the shallows — that's where the small sharks patrol.
What you'll do
- Wade in slowly and stand still, the small sharks come to you.
- They're baby reef sharks, curious and harmless, let them pass, don't chase or corner them.
- Swim properly when they've moved on, the water here is glass on a calm day.

Oct–May. Oman's summer (roughly May to September) is extremely hot inland, so plan outdoor places for the cooler months and go early in the day.
